Happy New Year, new video clip

We wish everybody a heavy new year!! We expect 2009 to be a good year for SuidAkrA and it starts right now with the release of our brand new video clip for the track "Shattering Swords" taken from the new album "Crógacht":

Sebastian Radtke did an amazing job again! We want to thank the following companies for their support: Braganca Larp, Taraljan, Trollhammer, Larp-Schneiderey, Battle-Merchant and Celtic Market. Crógacht cover artwork

Hey everybody. Here's a quick update with the latest SuidAkrA news...

First let's reveal the cover artwork for "Crógacht". Kris Verwimp did an amazing job again (not only on the cover, also on the whole Digipack and 16-page booklet design!):

Crógacht, Kris Verwimp, US release

Good news abounds in the SuidAkrA camp, so we’ll drop the small talk and get to the facts! First item of business: the new album. We’ll enter Gernhart Studios in November to record the new SuidAkrA album, 'Crógacht' (Yes, that’s the title; now try to pronounce it…)
We promised you a surprise about the new record, so here it is: we’re happy to announce that our dear friend Kris Verwimp [mySpace] will not only be in charge of designing first-class album art, but is also arranging first-class lyrical concepts and song texts! We’ll go into more details about the concept and artwork in the near future, but for now we can announce the song titles for 'Crógacht':

As the titles suggest, you can expect a decent Irish influence on the new record, so fans of folk metal can rest easy. Fans of SuidAkrA’s harder tunes must not fear; 'Crógacht' will kick your asses as hard as usual, if not harder. The worldwide release is scheduled for March of next year through Wacken Records / SPV.

If you’re a SuidAkrA fan living in the US of A, take a second look at the following banner; you might spot a discrepancy:

Earlier this year we announced the release of our '13 Years of Celtic Wartunes' DVD + Best Of CD in the United States, but because of reasons beyond our control (the so called “music business”) the release did not happen…until now. On October 7th, 2008, '13 Years of Celtic Wartunes' will be released via Wacken Records / SPV in the US!

First new song titles, new tabs

Finally a new update! We managed to nearly complete the whole new record musically! In addition we have finalized the vocal arrangements of 4 songs and therefore we can reveal the first song titles:

We will play some festivals this summer, but there won't be any new shows announced except what's online here already! Maybe we'll meet some of you at WACKEN this year, but for a change, we're not playing -just attending. Haha.

"13 Years of Celtic Wartunes" - all the info!

Finally, we can announce the official release dates for the "13 Years of Celtic Wartunes" DVD + Best Of CD package:

Germany - April 25th
Europe - April 28th
USA - June 10th

"13 Years of Celtic Wartunes" will be released as a 6-page Digipack on the new Wackenrecords label, with worldwide distribution handled by SPV.

The Digipack, from front to back cover, and the booklet are designed to look like a book dating back to another time, and include comments from the band plus personal background information about the Wacken show, acoustic concert and the "Best Of" compilation. You'll also find personal, unreleased pictures spanning the history of the band.
